A 1982 Porsche history, the 924 Canon Carrera GTR

1982. The Volkswagen specialists from the UK, GTi Engineering were also running a Porsche 924 Carrera GTR in the 1000km Nürburgring that year. Although they drove a GTO class production car, they could compete with the Group C cars and even sports prototypes ending even fifth in the overall results. The Canon sponsorship was from 1980 till 1985 the main sponsor for the Richard Lloyd Racing Team, still looking good on all of their cars. This 924 GTR still exists and is full restored now.

Only a total of 59 cars were produced of the 624 GTS model at the Weissach factory. The only color was Guards Red and LHD. 245hp at 6250rpm, topspeed at 248km/h. The Carrera GTR, as driven by the Richard Lloyd team was the racing version of this model with 375hp.
