Life of a camera car driver

Driven by Rainer Günzler and Paul Frère -both racecar drivers and journalists- ZDF television participated in 1966 for the first time with a camera car during the ADAC 1000km race at the Nürburgring. This Porsche 904 was equipped with big and heavy camera’s on the passenger place but managed a 9:36 during training and even a midfield starting position. Unfortunately, the quality of the black/white film footage was bad and disturbed by all electronic parts in the car.
